Third grade students were inspired by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and her self-portraits as they created their own self-portraits while learning about the rules of correct proportion. Students also used their knowledge of space to create a background with animals and plants from the rainforest.

Radial Symmetry Drawings
Our second grade students are preparing their radial designs for their Chihuly sculptures! We are very excited about our fieldtrip to see Chihuly's sculptures in real life at the Atlanta Botanical gardens this May! Clay Coil Pots
Third graders created these lovely coil pots from clay during art class. They learned about Mexican artist, Juan Quezada, and his clay pots made from natural resources. They also learned about pinch pots, coils, and properly attaching pieces of clay and glazing during this lesson.

Reductive Printmaking with Audubon
After learning about the art of John James Audubon, our fifth grade students drew birds from photos they observed in art class and then used their drawings to create these beautiful reductive prints.
